The alien capital of the world. The Torres’ and I are staying in a missionary apartment and the rest are in a house across the street. By the way, the baby is behaving like an angel. I haven’t written for the past couple of days because I haven’t had good internet signal. Mr. Reisner, Justin, Cloud, and I went to the International UFO Museum and Research Center. There were a bunch of cool pictures and articles about alien findings. There were also some funny comics that you wouldn’t get unless you read the articles. I’ll post up pictures when I get back to the dorm on the 13th. The gift shop had some pretty neat things too. I saw some weird names like Floyd and Beuford, but didn’t see any normal names like Christine in the rack of personalized keychains=). We’re going soul winning at 5 and dinner at 6:30. Thanks to those who are praying for us

We sang at Pastor Corely’s church last Sunday night after singing at Aztec. The Torres’ and I stayed at the Wardrip’s house and the rest stayed with the Corelys. Two of the Wardrip kids play instruments and I had a fun time playing with them. The next day, Mrs. Reisner, Mrs. Torres and I stayed at the Corely’s house to babysit and make lunch for the guys, while the guys stayed at the church to work on a building project. I had a blast with the Corely kids. They had a TON of pets, I’m not even joking. They had horses, a mule, dogs, a lizard, a parrot, and who knows what else. It was totally awesome when they let me see their horses. In fact, Justin and I got to ride one when he got back. We had a ton of laughs. After that I played dollhouse with the girls while the guys played a hunting game, and we ended with a game of Yahtzee. On our way home, Mrs. Torres tricked me into thinking that brown cows made chocolate milk…

Me: But I thought chocolate milk was made by pouring chocolate syrup into regular milk?

Mrs. Torres: Yeah you can do that too, but the chocolate milk from brown cows is sooo much richer

Today was fun. First, we stopped by the church to set up and to practice. Then we went soul-winning and passed out a few tracts. I read the chick tract “The Assignment”, it was pretty sad. I also read a tract about this guy who got in a coma and thought he went to hell. It was a pretty good story until I found out it was from…a different church let’s say. After that, we went shopping and got some stuff for the ministry team. Now comes the cool part: we went to see the Aztec ruins. It was AWESOME!!!. I’ll post some pictures when I get back because my laptop doesn’t have a slot for an S.D. card. Then, the pastor took a friend and I out to eat (If you know me, you probably know who that friend is =)) It was fun. I learned that it is offensive in the American culture to eat BBQ ribs with utensils=) Just to clear up some misunderstandings, my friend is a really nice guy. All the stuff I said in my last post was because I was…a girl…per se. =) Yeah, I still kind of have my “spinster club” roots and girls rule and boys drool, but I guess its a part of growing up and it’s something I’ll have to let go. Well, its getting late now and we’re an hour ahead in New Mexico. We’re going to be in Don Stackpole’s church tomorrow. Please continue to pray for us. Well, that’s all the time we have left for today kids. Now remember, God made you special, and He loves you very much. Good Bye!

Its only day one and I’m already going crazy! No, its not that I’m constantly surrounded by faculty and the pressures that come with it. It’s not the fact that we drove for the whole day today with only a few stops here and there. It’s not even the baby! It’s the boys! They are driving me insane. It brings a new light to the phrase “men are from mars and women are from venus.” We were arguing left and right and I was getting frustrated because I wasn’t being understood. Funny how I was looking forward to being with “my friend” all summer=) Well, now that it’s all blown over and I can think about it, it wasn’t all that bad. We were just going back and forth about being short, convention, paces, graduating on time, conspiracy theories, disney, and other little things. It’s not like we had a heated debate over some very important doctrinal issue and that we can’t be friends anymore. Ha ha. Ten years from now I can probably look back and laugh, but I just can’t bring myself to do that now=) Just continue to pray for us

And to my dear Mother in San Diego

Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. I looked over everything and I made the corrections, I really appreciate it. I miss you and I love you very much. No, I’m not getting a B.S. in pharmacy, but I’ll go ahead and let you dream =)

As you all know, I’ll be leaving tomorrow for a 7 week roadtrip for the ministry team. We will be traveling through California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Washington, and Oregon singing and serving in the local churches. Here are my mixed feelings about the trip.

1) Kuya Kyle- You’re in Chile right now and I miss you very much. It’s really different without you. I miss your words of wisdom and the funny things you do like locking everyone’s seatbelt and taking pictures of flowers for Annie. I wish we could kidnap you from Renae and James’ wedding and take you with us for the rest of the trip.

2) Mr. Curtis- You’re somewhere in Arizona working a job of some sort. I miss you too. It’s not the same without someone always commenting about how I’m always hungry and how I laugh at everything. Hope you’re doing okay

3) Clothes– I guess it’s a new rule to have khaki skirts and no denim because even Mrs. Brittney had to go out and buy khaki skirts. I was pretty frustrated at first because I didn’t have enough clothes for the whole seven weeks, then I found out we’d be doing laundry. Yay! A special thanks to Ms. Renae and Ate Ruth for letting me borrow some clothes. I’d be broke from shopping if it weren’t for them.

4) The Baby– I know everyone is concerned about the baby being on the trip, but let me say it’s not as bad as it looks. We took the baby with us last weekend and it wasn’t as bad as I thought. The baby doesn’t scream as loud anymore and not very often. I’ve been with the baby throughout the week and she seemed fine. If she does scream and cry in the middle of the night, it won’t bother me because I’ll be in a different room =). Then again, who knows what’s in store…

5) Traveling- I’m very excited to explore new places, visit churches, and meet new people. However, I’m not so sure how I’ll do on the road. I’m one of those people who get dizzy if I read or watch something in a moving vehichle so I’ll probably be sleeping or talking the whole time. I can also get car sick sometimes so that might not be good. Fortunatley with the baby, we’ll be making alot of stops

6) Etc- Funny how I’m the only P.B.C. student actually in the ministry team this summer =)

…and a few other personal things. Please pray for our saftey and that we would be a blessing to the churches we visit.
